VHB is an acrylic foam tape; its adhesive slowly flows under pressure and fills microscopic uneven surfaces, forming a full-area contact similar to "liquid glue," resulting in bonding strength that even surpasses many mechanical fasteners. It has extremely strong peel and shear resistance.

2. Excellent Cushioning and Stress Distribution Capabilities:

The foam layer of VHB is an elastomer that can absorb stress caused by impact, vibration, and thermal expansion and contraction.

When the device is dropped or impacted, the foam layer can deform and absorb energy, preventing stress from being directly transmitted to the brittle cover glass, greatly reducing the risk of glass breakage. At the same time, it can also compensate for dimensional changes caused by different thermal expansion coefficients between different materials (such as glass and metal frames, plastic frames), preventing delamination or deformation.

VHB tape can be cut into a closed shape that perfectly matches the frame, forming a seamless sealing barrier.

It effectively prevents dust, moisture, and cleaning agents from entering the interior from the screen edges, damaging the display module or touch sensor. This is crucial for outdoor equipment, medical devices, and industrial HMI panels.

4. Excellent Environmental Resistance:

High-quality VHB tape can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 90°C (even 150°C for short periods) and high-temperature, high-humidity environments for extended periods with minimal performance degradation, avoiding the problems of liquid adhesives softening at high temperatures or becoming brittle at low temperatures.

It resists UV radiation, ozone, and various solvents and cleaning agents, making it suitable for applications requiring frequent wiping and disinfection.

2. High Consistency, High Yield:

The tape has a precise and uniform thickness (e.g., 0.2mm, 0.5mm, 1.0mm), providing stable air gap control between the cover and the housing, ensuring consistent optical performance.

The amount of adhesive on each piece of tape is fixed, eliminating the problems of inconsistent bonding strength caused by uneven adhesive application, breaks in the adhesive, or air bubbles in the dispensing process, significantly improving product yield and consistency.

3. Easy Repair and Automation:

Although the bonding strength is strong, it is still possible to remove the cover without damage or with minimal damage for repair using specialized heating (to reduce adhesive strength) and tools, which is an important consideration in some high-end repairs.
