TFT screen flickering may be caused by the following reasons:
I. Hardware-related reasons
1. Backlight problem
· Fault manifestation and principle
· Aging or damage of the backlight tube may cause flickering. The backlight provides the backlight source for the TFT screen. If it works unstable, such as when the tube ages, the performance of the luminous substances such as mercury vapor inside it decreases, and the light intensity generated when the current passes through will be unstable, causing the screen to flicker.
· Solution
· For devices with replaceable backlight tubes, you can try to replace the new backlight tubes.
2. Screen cable failure
· Fault manifestation and principle
If the power pin of the TFT LCD screen has poor contact, it may also cause the screen to flicker. The TFT screen needs to receive the image signal from the motherboard through the screen cable. If there is a problem with the screen cable, there may be interruptions or interference during the signal transmission, causing the screen display to flicker.
· Solution
· For desktop computers, you can open the chassis, check whether the screen cable interface is loose, and re-plug the screen cable to ensure a firm connection. If it is a laptop, you need to carefully open the back cover (if you have some hands-on skills), find the screen cable interface, and re-plug the screen cable.
3. Graphics card problem
· Fault manifestation and principle
· Graphics card failure may cause unstable signals output to the TFT screen. For example, errors in the graphics card's video memory, overheating of the graphics card chip, or damage to the capacitors in the graphics card circuit may affect the normal output of the image signal, causing the screen to flicker.
· Solution
· For desktop computers, you can try to clean the graphics card dust to ensure that the graphics card is well cooled. If you suspect that it is a hardware problem such as video memory, you can use some hardware detection software (such as MemTest, etc. for detecting video memory) for detection. If it is determined that it is a graphics card hardware failure, you can contact the manufacturer's after-sales service for repair or replacement for graphics cards under warranty.
2. Software-related reasons
1. Improper refresh rate setting
· Fault manifestation and principle
· If the screen refresh rate is set too high, beyond the range supported by the monitor or graphics card, it may cause the screen to flicker. The refresh rate refers to the number of times the screen is refreshed per second, in Hz. When the refresh rate is set too high, there may be problems with the synchronization between the graphics card and the monitor, resulting in unstable image display.
· Solution
If there is a problem with the screen driver, this method can be used to solve it. Re-download the driver that can normally drive the TFT LCD screen to solve the problem.
