How to prolong the storage life of LCD screens

1. Temperature

· If the LCD screen is sealed or vacuum packed, the general storage temperature is -30 to 80 degrees. When the temperature is below 0℃, the fluidity of the liquid crystal will be significantly reduced, which may cause abnormal arrangement of liquid crystal molecules and affect the normal display function of the screen. When the temperature is higher than 80℃ for a long time, the electronic components and liquid crystal materials inside the LCD screen may accelerate aging and shorten its service life. The display screen is also an electronic accessory, which will also age and damage if not used for a long time.

2. Humidity

· The relative humidity should be maintained at 40% - 60%. When the humidity is too high, moisture may invade the inside of the LCD screen, causing short circuits, corroding electronic components or deteriorating liquid crystal materials. If the humidity is too low, static electricity is easy to be generated, which may interfere with the circuit of the screen and even damage the display components of the screen. In addition, the contact position of the LCD cable is coated with a gold-plated layer. If the gold-plated layer is relatively thin and the humidity is high, the gold fingers of the cable contact will oxidize after long-term storage. It is recommended to use sealed packaging or vacuum packaging materials.

3. Lighting

· Avoid long-term exposure of the LCD screen to strong light, especially direct sunlight. Ultraviolet rays are harmful components in strong light. They will accelerate the aging of the phosphor in the LCD backlight module, resulting in problems such as reduced screen brightness and yellowish color. At the same time, long-term strong light exposure may also cause the protective film on the surface of the screen to age and turn yellow, affecting the visual effect.

4. Placement status

· It is best to place the LCD screen flat and avoid squeezing. If the LCD screen is tilted or squeezed, the distribution of liquid crystal in the screen will be uneven, which may cause uneven display and afterimages. If it is not used for a long time, it is recommended to package the LCD screen flat.
